To start off with, comparing two authors who mostly write in the same genre is a tricky business. And I firmly believe that perspectives and opinions differ significantly. According to my interests, when it comes to romantic fictional novels, the first person that comes to my mind is “Ravinder Singh”. There are two main reasons why I deeply fell in love with his work, No.1: My first ever romantic fictional novel was his, “I too had a love story”, which was very sentimental and close to my heart and, No.2: He is excellent in conveying the romantic feelings that should be experienced by everyone at one point of their life. Now, I’ll explain more deeper about why Ravinder Singh is better than Chetan Bhagat and why I don’t feel the same intense feeling with him.
According to me, I think Ravinder Singh’s novels are much more pleasing to read than Chetan Bhagat’s novels. I am a girl who loves cheesy romance and I love the way Ravinder Singh explains the scenes with intense passion. When it comes to Chetan Bhagat, what I have observed so far is that, he takes romance in a little bit of vulgar and meaningless way. Chetan Bhagat starts with a good romance but soon his romance basically ends in a meaningless way. For example, when we look upon, ” Revolution 2020 ” novel, the way he describes about his love towards the girl hits another level at first, but at the end , he just spoils the entire story with his cockiness. When we read, “I too had a love story” or ” can love happen twice?”, both the novels have the intense love story and it gives a good pleasant feel and creates a beautiful scar that will never be forgotten.
According to General researches, many readers feel that Chetan Bhagat takes his Protagonist action towards Internal factors like caste and emotions within a circle, but it comes to Ravinder Singh, he focuses much on the external factors that include of what the society faces, like Rape, bomb blasts, etc,. According to my research, Ravinder Singh not only focuses on ” romance with a girl”, but also on what’s happening around him and his novels can not only be read by teens but also by adults. But Chetan Bhagat’s works can mostly be relatable to teens. Most of his novels, like for example, “One Indian girl”, creates a bad picture on girls in general. I personally feel like he portrays “Women” as a product or a main erotic topic or concept in most of his novels, which I don’t get the feel from Ravinder Singh.
Chetan Bhagat’s novels mostly consists of triangle love or more than three persons which sometimes creates an odd feeling in the reader’s mind. Ravinder Singh’s first two novels which was actually his true life story touched many hearts because the way he explained and the way he brings out his own life story was not only fascinating but at the same time it was realistic. And one of his famous touching story , ” Her dreams are mine now “, which was Delhi rape case, brought a social and sensitive outlook. All his readers were able to travel along with him throughout his novel.
Chetan Bhagat has also given some great novels like ” The 3 mistakes of my life “, ” One night at the call centre ” and he is also good at leveraging his political, economical and socio-political aspects in “India Positive” and “Making India awesome”. Many readers of his, do feel that his thoughts are normally highly insightful and some of his novels have a realistic storyline. And his works contain the conventions of both traditional Indian world and an exotic youth India. Even though he’s not liked by many, he is one of the top authors with the best selling novels in India.
But at the end of the day, when I want to read a Romantic fictional novel, the first person who comes to my mind will be Ravinder Singh and I am proud to say that I am diehard fan of him. I would simply suggest his works widely with a big smile.
